The Power of Political SMS [Infographic]

Infographs are becoming a hot social media tool in presenting statistics. We created this one about how much leverage Political SMS has when running a campaign.

With a 98% open rate and almost 152B messages sent/ month, how could you not incorporate SMS into your campaign? It proved to be successful for Scott Brown and it can for you as well. Lets get you set-up with a Tatango account and start adding to the monthly SMS messages sent!

The Importance of Ethics

The Golden Rule has been embedded in our minds since we managed to speak our first words. As we have grown, it has been stored in the back of our minds for occasional reference. I would like to remind everyone of the importance of ethical behavior. And though it may not seem paramount, honorable decisions can place you ahead of the game.

Whether it is through price fixing games, crooked accounting principles, or fraud of any kind, those who try to prosper by cheating only bring long term damage to themselves and often to those around them.

Hopefully by now you have heard about the Enron Scandal and the effects on employees and corporate America. Enron traders collaborated with California’s power plants and caused blackouts over the entire western power grid whenever demand decreased. When everyone was begging for energy, Enron would “come to the rescue” with higher prices. Traders saught out every loophole in order to profit from California’s misery. They had absolutely no interest in providing energy, they just wanted to make an obscene amount of money and needed a cover under which to operate. They were beyond unethical. Kenneth Lay, founder and CEO, died before he received his sentence. And the president, Jeffery Skilling, was sentenced to 24 years and 4 months in prison. He will finish his sentence in 2030. Green Space

leedgold

Ever wonder where Tatango is based out of and what type of office we work in? Tatango, Inc. is based in Bellingham, WA. Bellingham is the mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, the music and art scene and small business owners, like Tatango’s CEO Derek Johnson.

With the growing interest in being “green” and environmentally conscious, Tatango is helping reduce its effect on the environment by working in a LEED Gold certified building, Kateri Court. The building was built with the aim of being water and energy efficient. The project team for the building also focused on using environmentally friendly material with having them be from regional/ local businesses and using recycled content materials.

We help reduce our effect on the environment by recycling, being conscious of turing off lights when not in the room, setting our computers to “energy saving” mode and sometimes riding a bike to work instead of driving (when it’s not raining – it is Washington after all).

What do you do towards helping the environment?

The “Other Guy” V.S. Tatango

Some of you may have read our blog post about how All Text Messages Are Not Created Equal but we understand that sometimes you need proof. Our CEO, Derek Johnson was sent the message below from a group using one of our competitors, which we labeled the “Other Guy”. When he replied STOP and HELP to opt-out of the group, nothing happened… To show you the difference, Derek responded STOP after receiving a group message from Tatango. This is an example of the difference a user experiences when using a service like Tatango that uses SMPP messaging, compared to the “other guy” using SMTP messaging. Which experience do you want your members to have?

Welcome our new Account Manager

Hi all, I want to introduce myself, Chelsea Dier, as the new Tatango account manager.  If you need any help with your Tatango account, I am here to help you.

I graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Recreation and continue to live in Bellingham and am enjoying it as a resident and not a college student.  My many years of experience in customer service and sales will make myself a great asset to Tatango. I am interested in photography, being outdoors, social media and getting to know the Tatango crew.

Chelsea

If you need any support, please feel free to e-mail me at support[at]tatango.com.

twitter: @chelseadier. I look forward to getting to know you, potential and current Tatango users!
