Meet the Tatango Team

Derek Johnson

The Derek (Founder and CEO)

Derek Johnson

Derek was bit by the entrepreneur bug early in life, starting his first business of selling candy bars to fellow students at recess by the age of eight. Derek, a self proclaimed workaholic puts in 100+ hour workweeks to help fulfill the vision of Tatango.com. When not in the office, you can find Derek... wait, trick question. You can find Derek in the office.

Feel free to stalk Derek on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and his Blog.

Adrian Pike

The Brain (Chief Technical Officer)

Adrian Pike

Adrian started developing software at a young age, when he got his first computer, a Commodore 64. Since then, he's led a number of large software projects and web applications to fruition, the latest of which is Tatango. The list of programming languages in which he's familiar is thicker than your local phone book, and probably just as little-known. His favorite movie, Memento.

When he's not frantically wrestling large blocks of code or ornery servers into place, he can often be found in his garage, rebuilding his engine for the umpteenth time.

You can also find Adrian on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and Posterous.

Andrew Dumont

Suit (VP of Marketing and Business Development)

Andrew Dumont

With a venti-sized coffee in one hand and a cell phone in the other, Andrew spearheads our marketing and business development efforts. In between riding the caffeine wave and introducing more new users to Tatango than you can shake a stick at, Andrew can be found sealing deals and swapping stories with some of the biggest names in the startup world.

Andrew is the best-dressed member of the Tatango team. His drink of choice, Red Bull.

Feel free to contact Andrew on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.

Amiel Martin

Juggles (VP of Engineering)

Example

Amiel Martin is our VP of Engineering, responsible for actually making our products work. Amiel has a long and storied history of developing with Ruby on Rails, and is often the go-to-guy for thorny Ruby or Rails problems. In his free time, Amiel can often be found as a core member of the Juggling Jollies, an acrobatically inclined comic juggling troupe based out of the Pacific Northwest.

Get to know Amiel a little better on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.

Alex Mittelstaedt

The Charmer (Community Manager)

Example

Alex is the newest member of the team and the one working hard to build a dynamic experience for Tatango users! His true passion comes in working with people, bringing them together, and encouraging them to foster connections by exchanging ideas. Outside of the office, you may find Alex with a large group of beautiful women, all of whom have a glowing personality.

You can connect with Alex on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.

Ben Huntley

The Big Guy (Engineer)

Example

Ben is a master craftsman, with more developing languages known than most foreign studies majors. Ben earned the nickname with his six and a half foot frame and lovable personality that makes all ladies quiver. With a degree in computer science from Western Washington University, Ben proved to be the shining star of his graduating class. Ben acts as the basketball instructor to the Tatango team as well, rejecting any and every shot taken. He has taken us all to school, many a time.

Hit up Ben on Twitter and Facebook.

Scott Pierce

The Godfather (Creative Director)

Andrew Dumont

With a past as the Art Director at Disney, Scott brings a creative style to Tatango that can be found in everything we do. Scott's skill set is the most advanced of anyone we've ever met, whether it be filming a movie or creating an innovative email campaign, Scott can do it. With the outgoingness of a true extrovert, Scott has become a mogul in the Northwest, moving and shaking with the biggest names in the biz.

You can connect with Scott on Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter.

Nathan Carnes

Pixel Pusher (Graphic Designer)

Example

Nathan Carnes was not born, he photoshopped himself into existence. In between taking puffs from the finest cigars and sipping the perfectly aged scotch, Nathan finds solace in perfecting Tatango's interface. Nathan loves to craft semantic HTML, is constantly searching for pixel perfection and is still upset he can't get his MacBook Air waterproofed for hot tub use.

Link up with Nathan on Linkedin, Twitter and his Website.

Interns

Meet the Tatango Interns

Example

The dictionary defines an intern as, "a student or a recent graduate undergoing supervised practical training.” I do not doubt Mr. Webster, however this is not the definition at Tatango. An intern here, does anything, at anytime, under any circumstance. The highly acclaimed film Wedding Crashers has a quote applicable to intern work at Tatango, Rule 76: No excuses, play like a champion.

Bret Lane, Ray Peters, Danielle Scalzo and Mitch Moquin comprise the All-Star interns, who work daily to complete a wide variety of tasks ranging from managing blogs to dropping off dry cleaning.

Meet the Tatango interns here.
